Why Orders Complete Automatically

A marketplace cannot function if transactions remain open indefinitely. If confirmation depended entirely on the buyer acting, a buyer could keep a seller's funds unresolved simply by doing nothing — never confirming delivery, never reporting a problem, never responding at all. That would be unfair to sellers, who have fulfilled their obligation and are entitled to payment.

At the same time, buyers need a genuine opportunity to receive, inspect, and respond. Automatic completion exists to balance these two needs: it gives buyers a defined period to act, and it ensures sellers are not left waiting without limit.

How It Works

Under the current operating model, the process follows this sequence:

  1. The seller hands over the product.

  2. An estimated delivery period of approximately 24 hours applies.

  3. The buyer receives a confirmation or issue notification.

  4. An additional confirmation period follows.

  5. If no legitimate issue is raised, the seller payout may be automatically initiated.

The purpose of the sequence is to give the buyer clear notice and a fair window to respond, while ensuring the transaction can conclude if no problem is raised.

What Buyers Should Do

The most important thing for buyers is to respond within the applicable period. When you receive a product, inspect it. If everything is satisfactory, confirm delivery. If something is wrong, report the problem. Either action resolves the order; only inaction allows it to complete automatically.

If you have a genuine concern but have not yet inspected the product, act before the period expires. Reporting a legitimate issue stops automatic completion and opens the dispute process. It is far better to raise a concern in time than to discover, after the order has completed, that you have missed the window.

What Happens If a Dispute Is Open

An active dispute takes precedence over automatic payout. If a problem has been formally reported and is under review, the automatic completion process does not proceed. The payout remains held until the dispute is resolved according to the applicable policy.

This means buyers who report problems in time are protected, regardless of the automatic timeline.

A Fair Balance

Automatic order completion is not a mechanism for rushing buyers. It is a mechanism for ensuring that transactions conclude. Buyers who inspect and respond promptly — whether by confirming or by reporting — will never be affected by it. The process exists for the cases where no response comes at all.
