The Boundaries of the Marketplace

Bukiia exists to connect buyers and sellers of legitimate products. That purpose depends on clear boundaries. Some items cannot be sold because they are illegal, unsafe, stolen, or otherwise incompatible with a trusted marketplace. Understanding these boundaries is part of being a responsible seller.

Listing rules are not obstacles. They protect buyers, protect honest sellers from competing with bad actors, and preserve the integrity of the marketplace as a whole.

What Can Be Sold

Products listed on Bukiia must be legal, accurately represented, and permitted under Bukiia's Marketplace Rules.

Examples of marketplace categories may include electronics, fashion, books, home and living, beauty, sports, school supplies, toys and children's products, kitchen products, and other permitted categories. Within these categories, the products themselves must comply with applicable law and Bukiia's requirements.

Prohibited Items

Bukiia may prohibit products that are illegal, stolen, counterfeit, dangerous, unsafe, restricted by law, or otherwise prohibited by Bukiia policy.

This includes products that violate Cameroon law, goods obtained through theft or fraud, counterfeit or inauthentic goods represented as genuine, and items that pose a risk to buyers or to the public. Sellers must not list illegal products, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, prohibited items, or products using intentionally deceptive information.

Restricted Items

Some products may be subject to additional restrictions. These are not necessarily prohibited, but they require sellers to meet specific conditions — for example, compliance with particular laws or Bukiia requirements.

Sellers are responsible for understanding and complying with applicable laws and Bukiia requirements. If you are unsure whether a product is restricted, it is better to ask before listing than to discover the answer afterwards.

Counterfeit Products

Products represented as genuine must not be counterfeit. This is one of the most serious listing violations, because counterfeit goods harm buyers, damage brands, and undermine trust in the marketplace.

Where authenticity is disputed, Bukiia may request product photographs, serial numbers, IMEI numbers, packaging, receipts, proof of purchase, or other relevant evidence. Intentional counterfeit sales may result in serious account action.

Misleading Listings

A listing may violate Bukiia's rules if it uses false information, hides material defects, misrepresents condition, uses unrelated images, misrepresents specifications, advertises something the seller does not possess, or attempts to manipulate buyers.

These violations matter because they undermine the accuracy on which every transaction depends. A marketplace where listings cannot be trusted is a marketplace where buyers cannot make informed decisions.

Why Listings May Be Removed

Bukiia may remove or restrict listings for reasons including policy violations, prohibited products, fraudulent information, counterfeit goods, misleading content, safety concerns, legal requirements, and other marketplace integrity concerns.

Removal is not a punishment for its own sake. It is how the marketplace maintains the standard of accuracy and legality on which every buyer and seller relies.

The Seller's Responsibility

Sellers are responsible for ensuring their listings comply with Bukiia's rules and applicable law. This responsibility cannot be delegated or assumed away. A seller who lists prohibited items, even unintentionally, may face listing removal, account restrictions, or termination.

The safest approach is simple: sell legitimate products, describe them accurately, and if you are unsure whether something is permitted, ask before listing.
