The Framework Behind the Marketplace

Every marketplace needs rules. Without them, buyers cannot trust what they see, sellers cannot compete fairly, and the platform cannot function as a safe place to transact. Bukiia's Marketplace Rules establish what users may list, how buyers and sellers should behave, and what activity is prohibited.

The rules are not a list of restrictions for their own sake. They are the framework that makes transactions between strangers possible.

What the Rules Cover

The Marketplace Rules address what can be sold, how products should be described, how buyers and sellers should conduct themselves, and what activities are prohibited.

They apply to everyone who uses Bukiia. A buyer is bound by them just as a seller is. Compliance is not optional, and it does not depend on whether a particular rule seems important to an individual user.

What Can Be Sold

Products listed on Bukiia must be legal, accurately represented, and permitted under the rules. Examples of marketplace categories may include electronics, fashion, books, home and living, beauty, sports, school supplies, toys and children's products, kitchen products, and other permitted categories.

Within these categories, products must comply with applicable law and Bukiia's requirements.

What Is Prohibited

Bukiia may prohibit products that are illegal, stolen, counterfeit, dangerous, unsafe, restricted by law, or otherwise prohibited by Bukiia policy. Some products may be subject to additional restrictions and require sellers to meet specific conditions.

Sellers must not list illegal products, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, prohibited items, restricted products without authorisation, misleading products, or products using intentionally deceptive information.

Listing Standards

Listings must meet quality requirements. They should accurately describe the product, use relevant photographs, state the correct condition, state important defects, use the appropriate category, display an accurate price, and display accurate quantity. Misleading listings — those that use false information, hide material defects, misrepresent condition, use unrelated images, or misrepresent specifications — violate the rules.

User Conduct

Beyond listings, the rules govern how users behave. Users are expected to communicate and transact honestly and respectfully. Prohibited behaviour includes harassment, threats, abuse, fraud, impersonation, manipulation, spam, and deliberate marketplace disruption.

Why the Rules Matter

The rules protect buyers from being misled and sellers from unfair competition. They protect the marketplace from the activity that would erode trust if left unchecked.

Users must comply with applicable law and Bukiia's marketplace requirements. Where they do not, Bukiia may remove listings, restrict accounts, or take other action. These consequences exist to preserve the marketplace for everyone who uses it honestly.
