The Rules Behind the Transactions
Every payment and wallet movement on Bukiia operates within a set of terms. These terms govern how payments are processed, how the wallet functions, and what rights and obligations apply to both buyers and sellers.
Understanding them is not legal formality. It is what allows users to know what to expect when money moves through the platform.
Payment Terms
Payment terms govern the supported payment methods, payment processing, protection fees, payment status, failed payments, reversals, and payment records.
Supported methods currently include MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money, with processing supported through Bukiia's payment infrastructure and payment provider integrations. Payment processing may include a transaction fee applied by Fapshi, the payment infrastructure provider, which can appear as an amount added during payment.
Protection fees apply to eligible protected transactions and support Bukiia's protection, payment, and dispute-handling systems. The protection fee is not the same as the product price, the delivery arrangement, or the payment provider's transaction fee. The exact applicable fee shown at checkout takes precedence.
Payment status — pending, paid, failed, or reversed — is recorded against the order, and the order status is the authoritative record of whether payment has been received.
Wallet Terms
Wallet terms govern wallet balances, reserved funds, wallet payments, refunds, seller earnings, withdrawals, and wallet records.
The Bukiia Wallet holds eligible funds within your account. Available balance refers to funds currently available for an eligible use or withdrawal. Reserved funds are temporarily unavailable because they are associated with an unresolved transaction, order, dispute, or other applicable process. Seller payout refers to funds released to a seller after the applicable order conditions have been satisfied. Withdrawal refers to a seller's request to move eligible available funds out of the wallet through a supported method.
These categories matter because a wallet balance may include funds that are not yet available. Understanding the distinction between available and reserved funds prevents confusion when reading a balance.
Why These Terms Exist
Payment and wallet terms exist to create predictability. When a buyer pays, the terms establish what happens next. When a seller earns, the terms establish when funds become eligible. When something goes wrong, the terms establish what options are available.
A marketplace where money moves without defined rules would be neither safe nor trusted. The terms are what make the financial side of Bukiia reliable.
Where to Find the Full Terms
The payment and wallet terms apply in full to every transaction. Users should review the applicable terms for the complete details, and check the information shown at checkout for the specific fees and conditions that apply to their transaction.
