The Most Valuable Habit in Buying

If there is one habit that prevents more order problems than any other, it is reviewing the order before paying. It takes less than a minute. It catches errors that would otherwise become disputes, cancellations, or refunds. And it ensures that what you pay for is exactly what you intend to buy.

What to Check

Before completing payment, work through the order deliberately.

Product. Is this the correct item? Check the title, the photos, and any variant details. A similar-looking product from the same brand may not be the one you intended.

Quantity. Are you buying the number of units you want? Quantity errors are easy to make and easy to miss.

Seller. Is this the seller you meant to buy from? If you are purchasing from multiple sellers, confirm that each order is correct.

Delivery details. Have you provided accurate delivery information? This includes your full name, phone number, destination, and town, along with any additional information needed for delivery.

Applicable fees. Review the fees shown at checkout, including the Buyer Protection fee and any Fapshi transaction fee that applies to the payment. Understand what each represents.

Wallet balance. If you are using wallet funds, confirm the amount being applied and the remaining amount payable externally.

Final amount payable. This is the total you will pay. Confirm that it matches your expectation before authorising payment.

Why Delivery Information Deserves Special Attention

Delivery information is a frequent source of problems because it is provided by the buyer but used by the seller and any delivery provider. Incorrect information can cause delays or failed delivery, and the consequences are borne by everyone involved.

Check that your full name, phone number, destination, and town are accurate. If delivery requires additional information — a landmark, a specific address detail, a preferred contact method — provide it. The more accurate the information, the smoother the delivery.

Remember that delivery itself is arranged separately between buyer and seller, but the delivery information recorded on the order is what the seller will use to arrange it.

Correcting Before Paying

If something is incorrect, correct it before completing payment. This is far easier than correcting it afterwards. Once an order is paid and the seller has begun fulfillment, changes may require cancellation or a dispute rather than a simple edit.

The review step exists precisely for this reason. It is not a formality. It is the point at which you confirm that the order matches your intention, and it is the last opportunity to make changes without consequence.
