The Two Pillars of a Listing
A listing's title and description do most of the work. The title determines whether buyers find your product in search and whether they click on it. The description determines whether they trust it enough to buy. Together, they are the difference between a listing that sells and one that sits unnoticed.
Writing Product Titles
Product titles on Bukiia should be descriptive and detailed. A title is not just a label — it is how buyers discover your product and how search engines and Bukiia's own search understand what you are offering. The more complete and specific your title, the more likely it is to appear in relevant searches.
A strong title includes the details that distinguish your product: the brand, the model, the product type, key specifications, the size or variant, and the condition. Where relevant, include colour, capacity, material, or other attributes that buyers search for.
A title like "Samsung Galaxy A15 128GB — Black, Used, Good Condition" tells a buyer exactly what is being offered and contains the terms a buyer would search for. A title like "Phone for sale" tells them almost nothing and will be buried in results.
Completeness matters for search engine optimisation as much as for buyers. A detailed, accurate title is indexed, found, and matched to searches. A vague title is invisible.
What to avoid remains important: misleading claims, excessive promotional language, unrelated keywords, and false specifications. A title stuffed with irrelevant keywords may violate listing rules and does not help genuine buyers. The goal is completeness and accuracy — not padding.
Writing Product Descriptions
If titles should be descriptive and detailed, descriptions should be very detailed. The description is where the seller provides comprehensive information about the product, and buyers rely on it heavily when deciding whether to purchase.
A thorough description covers what the product is, its condition, its important features, its full specifications, what accessories are included, any defects or limitations, the quantity, and any other information relevant to the purchase. Where a product is used, the description should describe its actual state in detail — not just "used" or "good condition," but what that means for this specific item.
Think of the description as answering every reasonable question a buyer might have, and then some. What is it? What condition is it in? What does it do? What are its specifications? What comes with it? What is wrong with it? How has it been used? How many are available? The more detail you provide, the fewer questions remain — and the fewer disputes arise later.
Sellers should disclose material defects. This is both a requirement and a protection. A disclosed defect is not a dispute — it is information the buyer considered before purchasing. An undisclosed defect is a dispute waiting to happen.
Writing for the Buyer You Want
There is a practical dimension to writing well. A listing that is accurate and detailed attracts buyers who genuinely want what you are selling. A listing that is vague or overstated attracts buyers who will be disappointed.
Clarity filters as much as it informs. Buyers who read a complete title and a detailed description and still choose to purchase are buyers who know what they are getting. That reduces returns, reduces disputes, and improves ratings.
The Discipline of Detail
The temptation to write briefly is understandable — a short description is faster to produce. But detail is what protects sellers and satisfies buyers. A complete title is found by the right buyers. A thorough description prevents misunderstandings. Together, they turn a listing into a reliable representation of the product.
Honest, detailed listings are not just ethically sound. They are commercially sound. Sellers who describe their products fully and accurately build trust, earn better reviews, and generate repeat business. In the long run, detail sells better than brevity, and accuracy sells better than exaggeration.
