1. About Bukiia

Bukiia is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of products in Cameroon. We make it easy to discover, buy, and sell items through one simple platform.

Bukiia is a marketplace. While we don't own or inspect the products listed, we do provide tools, protections, and processes (including Bukiia Payments and Buyer Protection) that are designed to make buying and selling safer for everyone.

2. Eligibility

To use Bukiia, you must:

• •Be at least 18 years old.
• •Be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
• •Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• •Keep your account information up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Your Account

You must create an account to buy or sell products on Bukiia.

You agree to:

• •Provide truthful information.
• •Keep your login credentials secure.
• •Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
• •Use only one account unless we expressly authorize otherwise.

You may not transfer or sell your account to another person.

4. Marketplace Role

Bukiia provides the marketplace, communication tools, and protection mechanisms that connect buyers and sellers.

Bukiia does not:

• •Own or inspect listed products.
• •Guarantee the accuracy of listings.
• •Participate in negotiations.
• •Handle physical delivery or shipping itself.
• •Guarantee that a transaction will be completed.

Where Bukiia Payments is used, Bukiia processes payment and administers Buyer Protection as described in Sections 5 and 6 below.

5. Payments and Consumer Protection Fee

Bukiia offers two ways to pay:

• •Bukiia Payments (recommended). Your payment is collected by Bukiia and released to the seller once you confirm delivery. Orders paid this way are covered by Buyer Protection.
• •Direct payment. You agree on a payment method directly with the seller. These transactions happen outside Bukiia and are not covered by Buyer Protection.

When you pay using Bukiia Payments, a non-refundable Consumer Protection Fee is added to your order. This fee funds Buyer Protection, payment processing, and dispute handling. The fee is tiered based on the total order amount and can go up to 3,000 FCFA. The exact fee is shown on the checkout page before you confirm.

Bukiia is not responsible for payment disputes, failed payments, fraudulent transfers, chargebacks, or refunds that occur under direct-payment arrangements made outside the Platform. Users who choose direct payment do so at their own risk.

6. Bukiia Buyer Protection

For every eligible order paid through Bukiia Payments, Bukiia provides Buyer Protection. If the item you ordered:

• •does not arrive,
• •arrives damaged, or
• •is materially different from the description in the listing,

you may open a claim and, subject to Bukiia's verification, receive a full refund of the amount you paid through Bukiia Payments less the protection fee.

How claims work:

• •Submit Raise dispute from the order page within the claim window shown on the order.
• •Bukiia verifies the dispute by reviewing evidence from both parties — including photos, listing details, chat history, and the sealed-package photo uploaded by the seller at shipping.
• •Verification may take up to 24 hours after we have all required evidence.
• •If the claim is approved, Bukiia refunds the amount paid through Bukiia Payments. The Consumer Protection Fee itself is non-refundable.

Buyer Protection applies only when payment is made through Bukiia Payments. Transactions paid directly between buyer and seller outside the Platform are not covered.

7. Seller Obligations

Sellers on Bukiia agree to the following:

• •Truthful listings. Provide complete, accurate, and truthful information about the items you sell — including condition, size, defects, materials, and any other detail a buyer would reasonably rely on.
• •Responsibility for accuracy. Misstatements, omissions, or misleading advertising may result in the item being returned to you at your own cost if it arrives materially different from what was advertised and the buyer is unsatisfied. In that case, you may also bear the cost of return delivery.
• •Inventory & stock. You are responsible for managing your own stock, updating quantities, and removing or deactivating listings that are no longer available.
• •Prompt processing. Process and ship every order within 24 hours of the order being placed. No order should remain unshipped for more than 24 hours. Orders that exceed this window may be cancelled and fully refunded to the buyer (including the Consumer Protection Fee), and repeated failures may result in suspension of Bukiia Payments privileges or account termination
• •Delivery responsibility. Although delivery is arranged privately between you and the buyer, you are responsible and liable for ensuring the item reaches the buyer safely and in the condition described in your listing. You are liable for any loss, damage, or misdelivery that occurs during shipping
• •Marking an order as Shipped. Before marking an order as "Shipped" on Bukiia, you must:
  • –Securely seal the package.
  • –Clearly write the customer's full name, delivery location, and shipping date on the package.
  • –Photograph the sealed package and upload the photo on the shipping form as evidence.
• •Marking an order as Shipped is required even when the buyer will come and pick the item up in person. Without this step, the buyer cannot confirm delivery.

Sellers must remove listings that are no longer available and respond to buyer messages and order inquiries in a reasonable time.

8. Buyer Obligations

Buyers on Bukiia agree to the following:

• •Truthful communication. Provide accurate information and communicate honestly with sellers throughout the transaction.
• •Collecting the item. Be available to receive or collect your item at the agreed time and place, unless you and the seller agree otherwise.
• •Confirming delivery. Once you have received the item and are satisfied that it matches the listing, confirm delivery on the order page. This step releases the funds held by Bukiia to the seller.
• •Raising issues promptly. If the item doesn't arrive, arrives damaged, or is materially different from the listing, Raise a dispute from the order page within the claim window.

Repeatedly failing to collect items, confirm delivery, or cooperate with Buyer Protection verification may result in account restrictions.

9. Delivery and Collection

Bukiia does not provide delivery services.

Buyers and sellers are responsible for arranging delivery, pickup, meeting locations, transportation, and associated costs. The seller remains responsible and liable for ensuring that the goods safely reach the buyer.

We recommend meeting in safe public places whenever possible, and using Bukiia Payments so that Buyer Protection applies.

10. Prohibited Content and Activities

You may not use Bukiia to:

• •Sell illegal, stolen, counterfeit, restricted, or unsafe items.
• •Post misleading or false information.
• •Upload offensive, abusive, or unlawful content.
• •Impersonate another person or organization.
• •Spam or harass other users.
• •Attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the Platform.
• •Circumvent any security or moderation systems.
• •Attempt to abuse Buyer Protection (e.g. false claims, staged damage, or tampering with received items).
• •Violate any applicable law.

Bukiia reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms.

11. User Conduct

Users are expected to interact respectfully and honestly.

You agree not to:

• •Threaten or abuse other users.
• •Use offensive language.
• •Attempt to scam buyers or sellers.
• •Manipulate ratings or listings.
• •Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the Platform.

12. Reporting Violations

Users may report listings, accounts, or behavior that violate these Terms.

Bukiia may investigate reports and take appropriate action, including removing listings or suspending accounts.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:

• •Violate these Terms.
• •Engage in fraud or deceptive practices.
• •Abuse other users.
• •Repeatedly post prohibited listings.
• •Abuse Buyer Protection, fail to ship orders, or repeatedly fail to confirm or collect as applicable.
• •Use Bukiia in a manner that harms the Platform or its community.

Account suspension or termination may occur without prior notice where necessary to protect the Platform or other users.

14. Intellectual Property

The Bukiia name, logo, branding, website, software, and content are owned by Bukiia and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the photographs and content you upload, but by posting them on Bukiia you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for operating, promoting, and improving the Platform.

15. Third-Party Services

Bukiia may provide links to third-party services, including WhatsApp and payment providers.

We do not control or endorse these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or actions.

16. Disclaimer

Bukiia is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties regarding:

• •The accuracy of listings.
• •The availability of products.
• •The conduct of buyers or sellers.
• •The quality, authenticity, or condition of any product, beyond the protections expressly set out in Section 6 (Buyer Protection).
• •The success of any transaction.
• •Continuous or error-free operation of the Platform.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bukiia and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:

• •Transactions between users.
• •Payment disputes outside Bukiia Payments.
• •Delivery disputes.
• •Lost profits.
• •Loss of data.
• •Fraud committed by users.
• •User-generated content.
• •Temporary interruptions or technical issues.

Our aggregate liability for eligible orders paid through Bukiia Payments is limited to the refundable amount described in Section 6. Users otherwise assume all risks associated with buying and selling through the Platform.

18. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bukiia and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

• •Your use of the Platform.
• •Your listings.
• •Your transactions.
• •Your violation of these Terms.
• •Your violation of any law or third-party rights.

19. Privacy

Your use of Bukiia is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

21. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of Bukiia shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cameroon.
