When a Conversation Goes Wrong

Most conversations on Bukiia are straightforward. A buyer asks a question, a seller answers, and the transaction proceeds. But not every interaction is productive. Some messages are unwanted, some are harassing, and some are attempts at fraud.

Managing these situations is part of using the platform safely. Bukiia provides tools to reduce unwanted contact and to report messages that violate its rules.

Managing Conversations

Where available, users may be able to mute conversations, hide conversations, and delete or hide conversation history.

Muting reduces notifications from a conversation without ending it. Hiding removes a conversation from immediate view. These tools give users a degree of control over their messaging experience without permanently severing contact.

Managing conversations is not an admission that something serious has occurred. Sometimes a buyer or seller simply wants to tidy their inbox or reduce noise.

When to Report

Reporting is for messages that break the rules. Report messages when they involve scams, threats, harassment, fraudulent payment requests, suspicious links, prohibited activity, or attempts to bypass Bukiia protections.

A single message can be enough to warrant a report. A request for your PIN, a suspicious payment link, or an attempt to move the transaction off-platform are all reportable, regardless of what else the conversation contains.

What Happens After You Report

Bukiia may investigate and take appropriate action. Not every report results in visible action, and the outcome of individual investigations is not typically disclosed. What matters is that the report is on record and contributes to Bukiia's broader assessment.

Reporting does not remove Bukiia's ability to review relevant transaction records when required for safety or dispute resolution. If a dispute arises, Bukiia can still examine the messages and order records involved.

If You No Longer Want to Continue a Conversation

If a conversation has become unproductive or unwanted, you are not obliged to continue it. You can stop responding, and you can manage the conversation using the tools available.

If the messages involve a rule violation — harassment, threats, fraud, or an attempt to bypass Bukiia protections — report them. Reporting ensures the messages are reviewed and the behaviour is on record.

Keeping Control

The messaging tools exist so that users are not forced to endure unwanted or harmful contact. Used appropriately, they keep conversations productive and the platform safe. There is no obligation to continue a conversation that has become unproductive or hostile — and there is every reason to report one that has broken the rules.
