Paying Through Bukiia

Bukiia's payment process is designed to create a transaction record and support the applicable Buyer Protection process. When a buyer pays through the designated Bukiia payment process, the transaction is documented, the seller's payout is governed by order conditions, and the buyer has access to dispute resolution if something goes wrong.

This is the central reason to pay through Bukiia rather than outside it. Payments made outside the protected Bukiia process may not receive the same protection, because there is no record for Bukiia to review and no mechanism to hold or release funds based on the outcome of the transaction.

Supported Payment Methods

Bukiia supports payment through available mobile-money and payment infrastructure. Current supported methods include MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money. Payment processing is supported through Bukiia's payment infrastructure and payment provider integrations.

These methods are widely used across Cameroon and familiar to most buyers. If you have used Mobile Money before, the payment experience will feel recognisable — with one important difference: the payment is tied to a Bukiia order, which is what activates protection.

Why the Method Matters Less Than the Process

The specific method — MTN or Orange — is a matter of convenience. What matters more is that the payment goes through Bukiia rather than directly to the seller.

A payment sent directly to a seller's Mobile Money number, outside the Bukiia order process, is not recorded as a Bukiia transaction. If the product never arrives, or arrives in a condition that does not match the listing, there is no order for Bukiia to review and no funds for Bukiia to hold. The buyer's options in that situation are limited.

A Record That Protects Both Sides

Paying through Bukiia is not only a buyer protection measure. It also protects sellers. An order paid through Bukiia establishes that payment was made, which means a seller is not left trying to prove that a buyer paid. The order record shows the amount, the date, and the transaction status.

Both parties benefit from a payment that is documented, traceable, and tied to a specific transaction.

If you want the transaction to qualify for Bukiia's applicable payment protection, use the designated Bukiia payment process. The method you choose — MTN or Orange — is up to you. The process you use is what determines whether protection applies.
