Paying From Your Balance
If you hold funds in your Bukiia Wallet, you can use them to pay for eligible purchases. At checkout, the wallet option allows you to apply your available balance to the order, reducing or eliminating the amount you need to pay through an external method.
This is one of the practical benefits of holding funds in the wallet. Instead of initiating a Mobile Money payment for the full amount, you can draw on your existing balance — which is faster and keeps the transaction within your Bukiia account.
How the Wallet Option Works
If wallet funds are available during checkout, the buyer may be given the option to use their wallet balance. The checkout displays your available wallet balance alongside the payment amount, so you can see exactly what is available before deciding.
If the wallet option is not selected, the applicable amount is charged through the selected external payment method. If wallet funds are used, the checkout will show the remaining amount that must be paid through the external payment method where applicable.
The key point is that the wallet option is a choice. You decide whether to apply your balance. If you do not select it, your external payment method covers the full amount, and your wallet balance remains untouched.
What You Will See at Checkout
At checkout, review the information displayed: the products, quantities, prices, seller grouping, available wallet balance, and the final payment amount. Where wallet funds are applied, the checkout shows how much is covered by the wallet and how much remains payable externally.
This transparency matters. It allows you to confirm, before paying, exactly how much is coming from your wallet and exactly how much you are about to pay through Mobile Money.
When the Wallet Covers the Full Amount
Where your wallet balance is sufficient to cover the entire order, no external payment may be required. In that case, the wallet itself completes the transaction. The order proceeds normally, and the payment is recorded against your Bukiia account.
Reviewing Before You Confirm
As with any checkout, review the details carefully before confirming. Check that the products, quantities, and seller grouping are correct, and that the wallet and external amounts add up to the expected total. If something looks wrong, correct it before completing payment.
Only proceed when the information is correct. The wallet option is designed to make payment simpler, not to make it automatic — you remain in control of how your funds are applied.
