What Makes a Purchase Eligible

Buyer Protection does not apply to every transaction on Bukiia. It applies to eligible transactions paid through the designated Bukiia payment process. The distinction is not arbitrary — it reflects the fact that protection depends on having a recorded order, a documented payment, and a transaction Bukiia can review.

A transaction paid directly to a seller, outside the Bukiia payment process, sits outside this framework. There may be no order record, no payment record, and no mechanism to hold or release funds based on the outcome. This is the practical reason why paying through Bukiia matters: it is what brings a transaction within the protection system.

Always review the payment and protection information shown at checkout. That is where the applicable terms for your specific transaction are displayed.

What Buyer Protection Covers

Depending on the circumstances, Buyer Protection may apply to several categories of problem.

Product not received. The buyer paid, the seller marked the order as shipped, but the product never arrived.

Wrong product. The buyer received a different item from the one purchased.

Materially different product. The product received differs significantly from what the listing described.

Materially undisclosed condition problems. The product has significant defects or damage that were not disclosed in the listing.

Significant damage. The product arrived damaged in a way that materially affects its value or function.

Missing quantity. The buyer received fewer items than purchased.

Missing major components. Important parts or accessories that were represented as included are absent.

Counterfeit or inauthentic products. Where the claim is supported by evidence, Buyer Protection may extend to products represented as genuine but found not to be.

The Common Thread

These categories share a common thread: each represents a genuine failure of the transaction as agreed. In each case, what the buyer received does not match what the listing and the order established. That mismatch — between the promise and the delivery — is what Buyer Protection exists to address.

Why Coverage Is Evidence-Based

Even where a problem falls within these categories, Buyer Protection does not resolve automatically. Coverage is assessed on the evidence. A claim of "product not received" must be weighed against delivery evidence. A claim of "counterfeit" must be supported by documentation. A claim of "significant damage" must be demonstrable.

This is not scepticism for its own sake. It is how a fair process works. Coverage categories define the kinds of problems Buyer Protection can address; evidence determines whether a particular claim is upheld.

Reading the Terms at Checkout

The applicable protection information is shown at checkout for each transaction. Review it before paying, so you understand what coverage applies to your specific purchase. Eligibility and coverage are defined by those terms, not by general expectation.
